About Us

Eksjö District Court is an open and development-oriented workplace with engaged employees. We currently have around 25 staff members, and the court consists of a case unit and an administrative unit. The workplace is characterized by close collaboration among employees.

We handle over 2,500 cases and matters each year. The court is supported by more than 45 lay judges. The jurisdiction of the district court includes the municipalities of Eksjö, Vetlanda, Nässjö, Sävsjö, Aneby, and Tranås.

Together with other courts in the country, the district court forms the foundation of the judiciary and is a cornerstone of the democratic society.

Main Responsibilities

As a court assistant, you will work with simpler tasks in the court's reception and in the case unit. You will provide public documents upon request and also register incoming documents from both the public and other authorities, communicate in cases and matters, and participate in other preparations for hearings (case registration may also be relevant). You will also assist with practical preparations in the courtrooms related to technology and equipment in the rooms. You will work alongside various colleagues and gain practical insight into a large part of the district court's operations.

Eksjö District Court is now seeking a court assistant for the period from June 15 to August 9, 2026, with possible earlier start or extension. (possibly 2 positions depending on need)

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is studying in a law program or has just completed their studies.

You should have good grades from completed parts of the law program as well as strong skills in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You convey information clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing.

You are meticulous and have good analytical skills, but are also flexible and solution-oriented, able to get things done quickly without compromising quality. You enjoy switching between administrative and practical work and have a pronounced sense of responsibility and service. Excellent computer skills are required, and you need to be open to working with new systems. As a person, you are both service-oriented and quality-conscious. You find it easy to collaborate with others and prioritize tasks according to the needs of the organization and adapt accordingly. Since the temporary position requires you to quickly adapt to new tasks and collaborate well, great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

Decisions regarding employment may be made based on the documents submitted. Great importance will be placed on your personal letter and how you motivate your interest in working as a court assistant at our court. However, interviews may also be relevant.

To be considered for employment, you must meet high standards regarding judgment, security awareness, and suitability. This means that you uphold democratic values and the state value base that underpins the operations of the courts. We require that you comply with applicable laws.
